With hot chocolate and snacks on hand, we held the second “Getting To Know You” session on January 7 at our office in Quincy. We had the pleasure of speaking with people from four different Christian Science branch churches regarding our services.
One person was looking for help with a family member, and she was pleased to know that she had Home Care as an option. Before we left the office that day, we’d received calls from three other people. One said she was going to bring a friend, but due to circumstances had been unable to make it. She did ask enthusiastically, however, “When’s the next one?” And another person who called, who was getting a late start and was sorry to hear she wouldn’t make it in time, said she’d try for the next one.
We’ve received a supportive response from these gatherings so far, the next one is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We hope to see you there!

On July 17, 2011, Home Care for Christian Scientists, Inc., moved to a new home at 16 Beale Street in Quincy, Massachusetts.
"We're located next to the Reading Room and sharing office space with First Church of Christ, Scientist, Quincy, which recently sold its edifice," said Mary Bing, Home Care’s Board Chairman. “While we are grateful the church allowed us to have had our office in their edifice for the past 11 years, we are happy to say the storefront exposure is a big plus for us. Being in the public eye is paramount in growing the business, and we’re excited to be expanding our ability to reach more people in need of our services."

This year’s annual Home Care meeting and training workshop was held at First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Quincy, Massachusetts on April 13, 2011.
The meeting was open to all and began with remarks by Board of Directors Chairman, Mary Bing, focusing on the administrative, operational and financial status of the organization. Trainer Sandy Kincaid then conducted a workshop, discussing the ethics and spiritual qualities needed to be an effective home aide.
Thanks to all who attended and and those who continue to support our organization! |
